What to Expect

Travel Physical Therapists (PTs) help patients improve mobility, reduce pain, and regain function after injury, surgery, or illness. Certifications

Physical Therapists typically require the following certifications:

• Basic Life Support (BLS)
• Specialty Certifications (e.g., Orthopedic Clinical Specialist (OCS), Neurologic Clinical Specialist (NCS), or Geriatric Clinical Specialist (GCS))

Education

Physical Therapists must earn a Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree from an accredited institution, which typically takes three years. After graduation, they must pass the National Physical Therapy Examination (NPTE) to obtain licensure. Some states require additional certifications or continuing education.
