State government gives Topeka, KS a stable employment base, and the hospital market that serves the capital region adds its own layer of demand for travel nurses. Assignments run across intensive care and telemetry units, with the patient population drawing from rural counties well beyond the city. The Brown v. Board of Education National Historic Site preserves a landmark chapter of American history downtown, worth an unhurried visit early in a contract.
