FAQs – ER Travel Nurse Jobs Near Cleveland, OH

Are there other ER travel nursing jobs near Cleveland, Ohio?

Yes! Advantis Medical frequently staffs ER travel RN jobs in nearby areas. For your convenience, our similar jobs are sorted by distance so you can quickly review jobs that are close by.

If more than one contract looks like a fit, selecting “I’m Interested” on multiple assignments can give you more options to discuss with your recruiter.

What certifications are required for this ER travel nurse position?
Most travel ER jobs require Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), with Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) often needed if pediatric patients are involved. Many facilities also prefer the Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC), though it’s not always required. Specific requirements vary by unit—click "I’m Interested" to connect with a professional recruiter who can walk you through the exact certifications needed for this role.
How much ER experience do I need for this travel assignment?
Most travel ER jobs look for at least 2 years of recent emergency department experience and confidence caring for patients with a wide range of needs and acuity levels. Depending on the facility, experience with triage, trauma, pediatric patients, or high-volume emergency departments may also be preferred. Click “I’m Interested” to connect with a recruiter about assignment-specific requirements.
Can I work this Ohio travel assignment on my compact license?
Yes—an active multistate RN license covers this assignment because Ohio is a Nurse Licensure Compact state. Otherwise, endorsement through the Ohio Board of Nursing adds two Ohio-specific steps: a criminal-records check and two contact hours covering Ohio nursing law and rules. Our Ohio Nursing License Guide has current fees, timelines, and step-by-step instructions.
What's the clinical profile of the Cleveland Clinic's main campus for a travel RN?
It's a quaternary academic referral center built on a specialty-institute model — Heart/Vascular/Thoracic, Neurological, Digestive Disease & Surgery, Glickman Urological & Kidney, and Taussig Cancer — so RNs work within deep subspecialty teams on complex medical, surgical, and transplant cases.
How large is the Cleveland Clinic's cardiac ICU program for CVICU nurses?
The Heart Center's cardiovascular ICUs total 95 beds — one of the largest such footprints in the country — alongside coronary, heart-failure, and cardiac step-down units.
Does the Cleveland Clinic's main campus run a trauma center?
Not currently — the main campus is pursuing a Level I trauma designation (announced in 2026) and at present transfers severely injured patients out; today's acuity comes from complex cardiac, surgical, and transplant cases rather than trauma.
What EMR do nurses chart in at the Cleveland Clinic?
Epic, the Clinic's electronic health record (its patient portal is MyChart).
Is the Cleveland Clinic's main campus a teaching hospital?
It's the teaching hospital of the Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine (Case Western Reserve), with nearly 2,000 residents and fellows.

Explore Cleveland, OH

On the southern shore of Lake Erie, Cleveland, OH runs a dense hospital footprint that leans on travel nurses to stay covered. The RTA rail and bus network links most residential neighborhoods to the main medical campuses, so a car isn't always necessary for the commute. Much of the demand sits in critical care and on med-surg floors, and placements rotate outward into Parma, Lakewood, and Euclid as contracts turn over. Travelers who would rather skip parking often base near a Red Line stop. Between rotations, the Tremont dining scene, the revitalized lakefront trails, and the museums of University Circle fill the hours off. Lake-effect snow can stretch winter commutes, so it's worth factoring weather into where travelers settle.
