Explore Roseburg, OR

The Umpqua River braids through the middle of Roseburg, OR, a timber town turned wine-country seat whose hospital anchors care for Douglas County's enormous and thinly settled rural spread. Assignments here favor emergency and medical-surgical roles with regional range, and the patient draw reaches deep into the Cascade foothills. Crater Lake lies roughly ninety minutes east for the signature day off. Dozens of vineyards climb the surrounding hills, a tasting-room circuit that genuinely surprises first-time visitors, and the North Umpqua's fly-fishing water and waterfall corridor rank among the state's treasures. Renting is inexpensive by Oregon standards and sits minutes from work. Eugene's larger market runs about an hour north up I-5.
