What certifications are required for this L&D travel nurse job?

For high-risk OB roles, certifications like AWHONN Fetal Heart Monitoring are often preferred. What L&D experience is this facility looking for?

Click “I’m Interested” to connect with a recruiter about assignment-specific requirements.
Do I need to apply for a Texas nursing license for this travel nurse assignment?
Not if you already hold an active Texas RN license or an active multistate RN license—Texas participates in the Nurse Licensure Compact. If neither applies, you’ll generally need Texas licensure through the Texas Board of Nursing; nurses applying by endorsement must pass the Texas Nursing Jurisprudence Exam. Our Texas Nursing License Guide has current fees, timelines, and step-by-step instructions.
What maternity care is available to travel nurses at Ascension Seton Medical Center Austin?
Ascension Seton Medical Center Austin holds a Level IV maternal designation — Texas's highest — with maternal-fetal medicine, high-risk deliveries, and advanced neonatal care, so travel nurses handle the most complex obstetric and neonatal cases.
Does Ascension Seton Medical Center Austin hold a Comprehensive Stroke Center certification?
Yes — a Joint Commission Comprehensive Stroke Center recognized for AHA Stroke Gold Plus performance, alongside high-acuity heart and cancer care, giving travelers complex neuro and cardiac assignments.
How does Seton Medical Center Austin differ from the other Seton campuses in Austin?
It's the flagship full-service Seton hospital in central Austin; the most severe trauma routes to the nearby Dell Seton teaching campus, so travelers here focus on high-acuity heart, stroke, cancer, and maternity care rather than Level I trauma.
