Whiskey Row still faces the courthouse plaza at Prescott, AZ, a mile-high former territorial capital whose pine-country setting breaks every saguaro stereotype about Arizona. Local hiring covers emergency room, telemetry, and step-down unit roles. Places here run moderate by Arizona standards, and the four-season mountain climate remains a real draw for travelers. The Granite Dells stack their weathered boulders around Watson Lake minutes north, a paddling-and-scrambling playground unlike anywhere else in the state. The storied frontier rodeo still runs every single July, a tradition the whole town turns out for. Ponderosa trails start at the city's edge, Phoenix is one hundred minutes southeast. The Grand Canyon waits about two hours north.
