Are there other ICU travel nursing jobs near Indianapolis, Indiana?

Yes! Advantis Medical frequently staffs ICU travel RN jobs in nearby areas. For your convenience, our similar jobs are sorted by distance so you can quickly review jobs that are close by.

If more than one contract looks like a fit, selecting “I’m Interested” on multiple assignments can give you more options to discuss with your recruiter.

What certifications are required for this ICU travel nurse position?
Every ICU travel nurse position will require Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS). If you’re heading to a neuro or stroke unit, you’ll also need NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS). Certifications like CCRN and PALS can be required in specialized units—and they’re always great to have to open up more opportunities. Simply click "I’m Interested" to connect with a recruiter who can walk you through exactly what’s needed for this role.
What kind of critical care experience is preferred for travel ICU jobs?
Facilities generally look for at least 2 years of recent critical care experience and confidence caring for complex or unstable patients. Experience with ventilators, titratable medications, hemodynamic monitoring, and the specific ICU population may be requested depending on the assignment. Click “I’m Interested” to connect with a recruiter about assignment-specific requirements.
Does my compact license apply to this Indiana assignment?
Yes—Indiana recognizes active multistate RN licenses through the Nurse Licensure Compact, so no separate application is needed. For endorsement, sequence matters: don’t get fingerprinted until the PLA receives your application and emails the official service code—background checks completed early are invalid and must be repeated. Our Indiana Nursing License Guide has current fees, timelines, and step-by-step instructions.
What is the trauma and referral role of Ascension St. Vincent Indianapolis?
Ascension St. Vincent Indianapolis is a roughly 800-bed flagship on the city's 86th Street campus and a Level I Trauma Center that draws referrals from much of the state, giving travelers a high-acuity tertiary environment.
Does Ascension St. Vincent Indianapolis have a burn center and transplant program?
Yes — it runs Indiana's only American Burn Association–verified burn center for adults and children, plus a transplant center and a Comprehensive Stroke Center alongside the Level I trauma center and specialized ICUs.
Which specialty units can travel nurses work on at St. Vincent Indianapolis?
The campus spans heart and vascular care, orthopedics, the Lucas Family Brain & Spine program, critical care, and maternity through its Birthing Center, offering a broad and high-acuity caseload.

Explore Indianapolis, IN

At the center of Indiana's referral network, Indianapolis, IN draws cases from much of the state into its larger hospital systems. IU Health Methodist Hospital and Ascension St. Vincent help carry that regional caseload, with travel coverage common in the ICU and surgical suites. Contracts tend to span the wider metro rather than cluster in one district, so a base in Carmel, Greenwood, or Fishers puts a direct highway commute between home and the clinical centers. The grid of interstates, anchored by the I-465 loop, is genuinely the city's commuting backbone. A Colts game at Lucas Oil Stadium or a walk along the downtown Canal Walk fills a day off without much planning.
