FAQs – Travel Occupational Therapy Jobs Near Houston, TX

What certifications are required for travel OT jobs?
Travel OT jobs require an active occupational therapy license for the assignment state. Most also require an active OTR credential through NBCOT and current BLS certification. Some settings may look for specialized experience, such as hand therapy or pediatrics.
Is Houston a good location for travel Occupational Therapy jobs?
Yes. Houston is often a strong market for travel Occupational Therapy jobs due to consistent healthcare demand, a mix of hospital and outpatient settings, and competitive weekly pay packages. Many travelers choose Houston for its balance of career growth and lifestyle perks.
Where can I find other travel Occupational Therapy jobs near Houston, Texas?

Explore the similar jobs section to compare additional travel Occupational Therapy assignments. Travel jobs are sorted by distance from Houston, making it easy to view other nearby available opportunities.

You can submit an “I’m Interested” request for each job that matches your preferences. Expressing interest in multiple jobs can give you more options.

How quickly do travel Occupational Therapy jobs fill in Houston, Texas?
Travel Occupational Therapy jobs in Houston can be competitive, especially in high-demand specialties or desirable locations. Openings often move quickly once candidates are submitted, so having your profile ready and applying when you see a strong match can improve your chances of landing the assignment you want.
How many years of experience are required for travel Occupational Therapy jobs?
In most cases, travel Occupational Therapy roles require two or more years of recent specialty experience. Exact expectations may vary by facility, but meeting that benchmark opens the door to a wide range of assignments. At Advantis Medical, your recruiter works with you to find opportunities that align with your background, comfort level, and career goals.
What licensing route covers this Texas travel OT contract?
Texas is not an OT Compact member, so an occupational therapist licensed elsewhere must obtain a Texas OT license before beginning this contract. Licensure by endorsement includes the Texas jurisprudence examination and fingerprinting. The state’s temporary license is limited to first-time NBCOT examination applicants, so it is not a bridge for an experienced OT applying with an existing out-of-state license. Confirm current fees, requirements, and application steps with the Texas Board of Occupational Therapy Examiners.

Explore Houston, TX

On the Gulf Coast, Houston runs a large, wide-reaching clinical market, with plenty of room for allied clinicians and highways and local transit that define how practitioners get from housing to their assignments. Reliable placements sit in busy surgical centers and occupational-therapy clinics. The spread of the medical footprint means contracts turn up in Sugar Land, Katy, and The Woodlands as well. Time away from the facilities has real range, from food across the city's international neighborhoods to the paths through Hermann Park or the galleries of the Museum District. As a well-connected base, Houston pairs a broad professional scope with clear routes out to a varied set of urban neighborhoods, which keeps an assignment here from feeling confined.
