FAQs – Labor and Delivery Travel Nurse Jobs Near Fayetteville, AR

What certifications do travel L&D jobs require?
Most travel L&D jobs require Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and a current Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) provider card. Many facilities also require an intermediate or advanced fetal monitoring course.
What experience do facilities look for in L&D travel nurses?
Facilities generally want recent labor and delivery experience with fetal monitoring, labor progression, inductions, obstetric emergencies, and higher-risk pregnancies. Experience with magnesium sulfate, preterm labor, hypertensive disorders, and other common L&D scenarios may also be important depending on the unit’s acuity. Travelers should clearly describe the types of patients and deliveries they have managed independently.
How can an L&D nurses responsibilities differ between travel assignments?
The scope of an L&D role can vary significantly by hospital. Some units focus primarily on labor and delivery, while others expect nurses to cover antepartum, postpartum, couplet care, newborn stabilization, or surgical delivery responsibilities. Understanding the areas you may cover can help you compare the assignment with your recent experience and determine whether it is a strong clinical match.
Can my compact license cover this Arkansas travel assignment?
Yes—an active multistate RN license covers this assignment because Arkansas is a Nurse Licensure Compact state. For licensure by endorsement, note the fingerprint quirk: after applying, out-of-state nurses must message the Board through the Nurse Portal to request the ink fingerprint card—it isn’t sent automatically. Our Arkansas Nursing License Guide has current fees, timelines, and step-by-step instructions.

Resources for this Labor and Delivery job in Fayetteville

Explore Fayetteville, AR

Fayetteville, AR caps the southern end of Northwest Arkansas, a corridor along I-49 where Springdale, Rogers, and Bentonville run together into one job market. Travelers commonly land in emergency departments and medical-surgical units, and many take back-to-back contracts up the corridor without moving. Northwest Arkansas National Airport sits about thirty minutes north for flights. The Razorback Greenway runs the length of the metro, useful for bike commutes as much as weekend rides, and the Ozarks begin at the city limits. The college-town core keeps downtown lively through the school year. Housing costs less than most markets this size, though demand from the corridor's corporate growth keeps good rentals moving fast.
