Responsibilities
- Perform ordered CT exams across the assigned caseload, including emergent studies when assigned
- Administer oral and IV contrast per orders and facility protocol, monitoring patients during and after injection
- Operate CT equipment, selecting approved protocols and applying dose-optimization and ALARA radiation-safety standards
- Capture diagnostic-quality images and complete reconstructions per protocol, providing finished studies to radiologists
Travel CT Tech Requirements:
- 2+ years of recent CT Tech experience.
- Must hold all required certifications and licenses as mandated by California and national regulatory bodies.

Many hospital CT assignments include contrast-enhanced imaging and may look for experience with IV starts, power injectors, contrast administration, and contrast-reaction procedures. CT certification alone does not authorize every contrast-related responsibility, so permitted duties can depend on state rules, facility policy, required supervision, and documented competency.
Does California issue a separate CT license for travel jobs?
California doesn't issue a stand-alone CT certificate. For diagnostic CT work, you'll generally need an active California Diagnostic Certified Radiologic Technologist certificate, and ARRT radiography credentials may help you qualify for it.
