FAQs – Travel CT Tech Jobs Near Ann Arbor, MI

What certifications and credentials are required for travel CT Tech jobs?
ARRT (CT) is a common requirement; some employers accept NMTCB (CT). ARRT (CT) requires a supporting credential in radiography, nuclear medicine technology, or radiation therapy. Additional requirements include BLS and a state imaging license or certification.
Is X-Ray experience enough to qualify for a travel CT Tech position?
Usually, facilities want recent hands-on CT experience in addition to a radiography background. Travelers should be prepared to show that they have worked independently in CT and are comfortable with the pace, patient populations, and responsibilities expected in the department. Recent CT experience is especially important for travel roles where orientation may be limited.
Do travel CT Tech jobs require IV and contrast experience?
Many hospital CT assignments include contrast-enhanced imaging and may look for experience with IV starts, power injectors, contrast administration, and contrast-reaction procedures. CT certification alone does not authorize every contrast-related responsibility, so permitted duties can depend on state rules, facility policy, required supervision, and documented competency.
What qualifies a CT technologist to work independently in Michigan?
Michigan doesn't issue an individual CT license, but state rules set operator qualifications. Before working independently, a CT technologist will generally need current ARRT, CAMRT, or NMTCB registration plus either documented CT training and experience or ARRT advanced CT certification. Expect the facility to verify this documentation before your start date. Visit the MIOSHA Radiation Safety Section for current state requirements.

Explore Ann Arbor, MI

Ann Arbor, MI pairs a university-centered healthcare environment with a city built around the Huron River, parks, and a busy downtown. Radiology and laboratory medicine are part of the area's academic medical setting, creating technical work alongside a broad range of care. TheRide operates fixed-route service across the Ann Arbor-Ypsilanti area, which can be useful when comparing housing with a worksite or downtown access. Along the river, Riverside Park connects to the Border-to-Border Trail and receives winter snow clearing, while Argo Park adds paddling and riverside paths in warmer months. Seasonal weather still matters, so parking, transit, and the actual winter route can be more useful to compare than mileage alone.
