FAQs – Travel Occupational Therapy Assistant Jobs Near Cut Bank, MT

What license and certifications do I need for travel OTA jobs?
You need an active OTA license in the assignment state or an OT Compact privilege, which is available only when both your home state and the assignment state are actively issuing. Most facilities also require current NBCOT certification as a COTA and BLS. Because the OT Compact is still onboarding states, many assignments still require a traditional license.
How does supervision work for travel OTAs?
The supervising OT completes evaluations, establishes the plan of care, and remains responsible for reassessment and discharge, while the OTA delivers delegated treatment and documents progress. State rules and facility policies determine how often supervision occurs and whether the OT must be on site.
What do travel OTA assignments involve day to day?
The day-to-day role depends heavily on setting. SNF work often centers on ADL retraining, adaptive equipment, and productivity targets; inpatient rehab adds higher-acuity functional training; and school roles focus on fine-motor, sensory, and classroom participation goals. Ask about caseload size and how quickly the facility expects a traveler to reach a full schedule.

Benefits

  • Day One Benefits, Medical, Dental, Vision & 401(k)
  • Relocation and Travel Reimbursement
  • Dedicated team to help with state licensing & renewals
  • Weekly Direct Deposit
  • $1,000 Referral Bonus + $250 Bonus for Your Referral

Montana offers therapy travelers an appealing contrast between lively regional cities and expansive landscapes. Billings has outpatient rehabilitation for adults and children within its regional medical community. The city also offers restaurants and arts venues beside the Yellowstone River valley. Missoula is known for music and university culture, Bozeman combines a busy downtown with mountain views, and Helena adds history around the state capital. Farther north, the Flathead Valley leads toward Glacier National Park; eastern Montana opens into prairie and badlands. Summer farmers markets and local performances bring people into town, while river valleys offer places to fish or take in the scenery. Winter introduces a different Montana, with ski communities, snowy landscapes, and evenings in downtown restaurants.
