FAQs – Operating Room Travel Nurse Jobs Near Lebanon, NH

What certifications do travel OR jobs require?
Most travel OR positions require Basic Life Support (BLS), and many hospitals also require Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS). CNOR is preferred by many facilities but required by only a few. Pediatric ORs may ask for PALS.
What recent OR experience is required for travel OR nurse jobs?
Most OR travel jobs expect confidence in general and orthopedic cases plus several additional service lines such as neuro, spine, urology, GYN, vascular, or ENT. Robotic experience is also commonly requested. Facilities may ask for a service-line skills checklist, so be specific about the cases you have circulated or scrubbed recently.
Do travel OR jobs include call?
Often, yes. Hospital OR assignments commonly include evening, overnight, or weekend call, while outpatient surgery centers are less likely to. Call frequency, required response time, and call pay vary by facility, so confirm all three before you accept.
Does New Hampshire recognize my multistate RN license for this assignment?
Yes—an active multistate RN license covers this assignment because New Hampshire is a Nurse Licensure Compact state. Endorsement applicants generally must show 400 hours of nursing practice in the previous four years plus 30 continuing-education contact hours in the previous two—unless they passed the NCLEX within those two years. Otherwise-qualified applicants may receive a provisional license while background-check results are pending. Confirm current fees, requirements, and application steps with the New Hampshire Board of Nursing.
What trauma and academic acuity can travel nurses expect at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon?
New Hampshire's only Level I adult (and Level II pediatric) trauma center, with its own DHART critical-care transport, Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center is the state's only academic medical center and #1 hospital per U.S. News 2025–26.
How do Magnet recognition and teaching status shape the RN environment at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center?
Magnet recognition plus a Geisel School of Medicine teaching affiliation bring the specialists, protocols, and resources of an academic medical center, and the hospital charts on Epic.

Explore Lebanon, NH

Lebanon, NH sits at the heart of New Hampshire's Upper Valley, where Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center draws patients from across the surrounding region. Its medical-surgical floors and emergency department lean on travel nurses through the year. Clinicians often base in Hanover next door or in nearby Upper Valley towns like White River Junction, keeping the drive to the medical center short. Much of the off-shift routine runs along the Connecticut River, with biking paths, kayaking stretches, and quick walks near the water. Because the region is rural, the regional airport at Lebanon makes reaching the valley less of a trek than the map suggests, which is part of what makes a remote market like this workable.
