Responsibilities
- Evaluate patients and establish individualized treatment plans and functional goals
- Deliver therapeutic exercise, manual therapy, and gait and mobility training across a varied caseload
- Reassess progress and adjust each plan of care to keep patients advancing toward their goals
- Direct and collaborate with Physical Therapist Assistants and the interdisciplinary care team
Travel Physical Therapy Requirements:
- 2+ years of recent Physical Therapy experience.
- Must hold all required certifications and licenses as mandated by New Mexico and national regulatory bodies.
Carlsbad Medical Center in Carlsbad, New Mexico, combines medical, surgical and emergency services with an acute inpatient rehabilitation unit. The hospital also provides outpatient therapy through a separate location on North Canal Street.
- The inpatient rehabilitation unit serves adults ages 18 and older, with ten private rooms and a therapy gym for practicing functional skills. Read More
- Its rehabilitation team includes physical and occupational therapists, a speech-language pathologist, physicians and nursing staff, with individualized plans based on patients' needs.
- Rehabilitation programs serve people with stroke, brain or spinal cord injury, hip fractures, amputations, joint replacements and other causes of reduced physical function.
- Orthopedic care extends to arthroscopic procedures, hand surgery, shoulder and elbow surgery, sports medicine, and treatment for fractures and other traumatic injuries.
- Outpatient physical, occupational and speech therapy are provided at 401 N. Canal Street, separate from the rehabilitation unit inside the hospital.
