Responsibilities
- Perform ordered CT exams across the assigned caseload, including emergent studies when assigned
- Administer oral and IV contrast per orders and facility protocol, monitoring patients during and after injection
- Operate CT equipment, selecting approved protocols and applying dose-optimization and ALARA radiation-safety standards
- Capture diagnostic-quality images and complete reconstructions per protocol, providing finished studies to radiologists
Travel CT Tech Requirements:
- 2+ years of recent CT Tech experience.
- Must hold all required certifications and licenses as mandated by New York and national regulatory bodies.

Do travel CT Tech jobs require IV and contrast experience?
Many hospital CT assignments include contrast-enhanced imaging and may look for experience with IV starts, power injectors, contrast administration, and contrast-reaction procedures. CT certification alone does not authorize every contrast-related responsibility, so permitted duties can depend on state rules, facility policy, required supervision, and documented competency.
Is ARRT (CT) enough to work a New York CT Tech assignment?
No. New York authorizes diagnostic CT through its radiologic technologist license rather than a separate modality credential. Before starting the assignment, you'll need an active New York license and current registration; neither ARRT (CT) nor an out-of-state license substitutes for them.
