Responsibilities
- Perform ordered CT exams across the assigned caseload, including emergent studies when assigned
- Administer oral and IV contrast per orders and facility protocol, monitoring patients during and after injection
- Operate CT equipment, selecting approved protocols and applying dose-optimization and ALARA radiation-safety standards
- Capture diagnostic-quality images and complete reconstructions per protocol, providing finished studies to radiologists
Travel CT Tech Requirements:
- 2+ years of recent CT Tech experience.
- Must hold all required certifications and licenses as mandated by Ohio and national regulatory bodies.

Is X-Ray experience enough to qualify for a travel CT Tech position?
Usually, facilities want recent hands-on CT experience in addition to a radiography background. Travelers should be prepared to show that they have worked independently in CT and are comfortable with the pace, patient populations, and responsibilities expected in the department. Recent CT experience is especially important for travel roles where orientation may be limited.
Do travel CT Tech jobs require IV and contrast experience?
Many hospital CT assignments include contrast-enhanced imaging and may look for experience with IV starts, power injectors, contrast administration, and contrast-reaction procedures. CT certification alone does not authorize every contrast-related responsibility, so permitted duties can depend on state rules, facility policy, required supervision, and documented competency.
Do Ohio CT requirements change based on my original discipline?
Ohio doesn't issue a CT-only license. A licensed radiographer may perform diagnostic CT within the radiography scope, while nuclear medicine technologists and radiation therapists need qualifying national CT certification. A supervised clinical-training pathway is available for those disciplines while they work toward certification.
