FAQs – Travel CT Tech Jobs Near Oklahoma City, OK

What certifications and credentials are required for travel CT Tech jobs?
ARRT (CT) is a common requirement; some employers accept NMTCB (CT). ARRT (CT) requires a supporting credential in radiography, nuclear medicine technology, or radiation therapy. Additional requirements include BLS and a state imaging license or certification.
Is X-Ray experience enough to qualify for a travel CT Tech position?
Usually, facilities want recent hands-on CT experience in addition to a radiography background. Travelers should be prepared to show that they have worked independently in CT and are comfortable with the pace, patient populations, and responsibilities expected in the department. Recent CT experience is especially important for travel roles where orientation may be limited.
Do travel CT Tech jobs require IV and contrast experience?
Many hospital CT assignments include contrast-enhanced imaging and may look for experience with IV starts, power injectors, contrast administration, and contrast-reaction procedures. CT certification alone does not authorize every contrast-related responsibility, so permitted duties can depend on state rules, facility policy, required supervision, and documented competency.
Does Oklahoma license individual CT Techs?
No. Oklahoma doesn't issue a personal license for CT technologists. Facilities set the qualifications for standard CT Tech positions and commonly look for ARRT (CT) and documented competency, while the state X-Ray program regulates equipment and facilities. Review the job requirements and visit the Oklahoma State Department of Health X-Ray program for current state requirements.
What imaging and interventional radiology services are available on the OU Health Oklahoma City campus?
Services include CT, 1.5T and 3T MRI, PET/CT, SPECT/CT, fluoroscopy, ultrasound, X-ray, MRI-ultrasound fusion biopsy, and interventional radiology. Image-guided procedures support minimally invasive diagnosis and treatment.
Which procedural and respiratory settings may be relevant to travelers at OU Medical Center?
The campus includes 32 operating rooms, cardiac catheterization and electrophysiology services available 24/7, complex ventilator care, and adult ECMO. These settings are relevant to surgical technologists, cardiovascular clinicians, imaging specialists, and respiratory therapists.
