FAQs – Travel Physical Therapy Assistant Jobs Near Warwick, RI

What license do I need for travel PTA jobs?
Nearly every state licenses or certifies PTAs, so you'll need that credential for the assignment state or a PT Compact privilege. The compact includes PTAs: your home state must be an active member, you must be licensed there (typically as your state of residence), have no discipline in the past two years, and the assignment state must be actively issuing. Our PT Compact guide walks through it.
What supervision do travel PTAs work under?
Supervision requirements depend on the state and setting. Some roles require the PT to be on site, while others allow general supervision with regular availability and check-ins. Ask how supervision is structured, how reassessments are handled, and how quickly you can reach the supervising PT when a patient's status changes.
What productivity and caseload should I expect on a travel PTA assignment?
It depends on the setting. SNF and outpatient jobs may use productivity or patients-per-day targets, inpatient rehab may involve a full daily treatment schedule across a wider acuity range, and home health is often organized around visits and travel time. Ask for the expected daily volume, documentation time, and ramp-up period before accepting.

Benefits

  • Day One Benefits, Medical, Dental, Vision & 401(k)
  • Relocation and Travel Reimbursement
  • Dedicated team to help with state licensing & renewals
  • Weekly Direct Deposit
  • $1,000 Referral Bonus + $250 Bonus for Your Referral

Rhode Island’s small size brings several distinct communities into the same state picture. Rehabilitation includes hospital care in Newport and outpatient therapy in Providence and other towns, connecting recovery services with both urban neighborhoods and coastal communities. For therapy travelers, the appeal also lies in how much local character those places retain. Providence has a strong design culture, university events, and an unusually varied food scene for its size. Newport’s harbor and historic architecture give the coast a different identity, while South County is associated with beaches and quieter seaside villages. Inland farm stands and wooded recreation areas offer alternatives to the waterfront. A longer visit leaves room for local seafood traditions, art exhibitions, and a planned ferry trip to Block Island.
