FAQs – Travel Physical Therapy Assistant Jobs Near Belle Fourche, SD

What license do I need for travel PTA jobs?
Nearly every state licenses or certifies PTAs, so you'll need that credential for the assignment state or a PT Compact privilege. The compact includes PTAs: your home state must be an active member, you must be licensed there (typically as your state of residence), have no discipline in the past two years, and the assignment state must be actively issuing. Our PT Compact guide walks through it.
What supervision do travel PTAs work under?
Supervision requirements depend on the state and setting. Some roles require the PT to be on site, while others allow general supervision with regular availability and check-ins. Ask how supervision is structured, how reassessments are handled, and how quickly you can reach the supervising PT when a patient's status changes.
What productivity and caseload should I expect on a travel PTA assignment?
It depends on the setting. SNF and outpatient jobs may use productivity or patients-per-day targets, inpatient rehab may involve a full daily treatment schedule across a wider acuity range, and home health is often organized around visits and travel time. Ask for the expected daily volume, documentation time, and ramp-up period before accepting.

Benefits

  • Day One Benefits, Medical, Dental, Vision & 401(k)
  • Relocation and Travel Reimbursement
  • Dedicated team to help with state licensing & renewals
  • Weekly Direct Deposit
  • $1,000 Referral Bonus + $250 Bonus for Your Referral

Explore Belle Fourche, SD

South Dakota appeals through open landscapes and communities that feel quite different from one another. For therapy travelers, Sioux Falls combines physical therapy in a regional hospital setting with sports rehabilitation and the cultural life of the state’s largest city. Its downtown arts and dining scene contrasts with Rapid City’s western character and access to the Black Hills region. Across the state, the Missouri River reservoirs, eastern glacial lakes, and the dramatic formations of the Badlands offer very different outdoor experiences. Native cultural sites and locally run museums provide reasons to explore beyond the best-known monuments. Summer brings community celebrations and long evenings outdoors, while winter offers a quieter perspective on prairie towns and snow-covered Black Hills scenery.
