FAQs – Travel Occupational Therapy Jobs Near Plano, TX

What certifications are required for travel Occupational Therapy jobs?
Facilities typically require current NBCOT certification as an Occupational Therapist Registered (OTR), along with BLS certification. You also need authorization to practice in the assignment’s state. Your recruiter can confirm exact requirements for this position.
How much experience do I need for a travel Occupational Therapy assignment?
Many travel OT assignments prefer at least one year of experience, ideally in the same setting as the job. Requirements vary, and some facilities consider therapists with less experience. Relevant skills include independently completing evaluations, developing treatment plans, and managing a daily caseload.
What licensing route covers this Texas travel OT contract?
Texas is not an OT Compact member, so an occupational therapist licensed elsewhere must obtain a Texas OT license before beginning this contract. Licensure by endorsement includes the Texas jurisprudence examination and fingerprinting. The state’s temporary license is limited to first-time NBCOT examination applicants, so it is not a bridge for an experienced OT applying with an existing out-of-state license. Confirm current fees, requirements, and application steps with the Texas Board of Occupational Therapy Examiners.

Benefits

  • Day One Benefits, Medical, Dental, Vision & 401(k)
  • Relocation and Travel Reimbursement
  • Dedicated team to help with state licensing & renewals
  • Weekly Direct Deposit
  • $1,000 Referral Bonus + $250 Bonus for Your Referral

Explore Plano, TX

Plano, TX, has room for woodland walks at Oak Point Park and Nature Preserve, alongside the restaurants and shops of its historic downtown. The city's outpatient rehabilitation includes physical therapy for back and spine conditions. At Oak Point, paved paths and softer trails along Rowlett Creek allow a short outing or a longer walk through the trees. Travelers bringing their own kayak or paddleboard can use the park's pond. Downtown offers a separate setting for an evening meal, with restaurants and small shops grouped in the Arts District. That gives a temporary stay both an outdoor retreat and a neighborhood to explore on foot. The nature trails at Oak Point close at sunset, making daylight the time for woodland visits.
