FAQs – Travel Registered Respiratory Therapist Jobs Near Austin, TX

What credentials do travel RRT jobs require?
Travel RRT jobs generally require an active NBRC RRT credential, BLS, and a state respiratory care license where required. Additional requirements may include ACLS for adult critical care, PALS for pediatrics, or an NRP provider card for neonatal care. Specialized positions may also specify NPS or ACCS as preferred or required credentials.
How much critical care experience do I need for a travel RRT assignment?
Facilities often look for recent experience working independently in the type of respiratory care environment they are staffing. For hospital assignments, that may mean a strong background in acute or critical care and confidence managing a full respiratory workload with limited orientation. Travelers should be specific about the units, acuity levels, and level of independence in their recent experience.
Can my adult RRT experience qualify me for pediatric or neonatal travel jobs?
Not automatically. Pediatric and neonatal respiratory care typically require recent experience with those patient populations in addition to the appropriate credentials. Facilities may look closely at how recently you have worked with pediatric or neonatal patients and whether that experience matches the acuity of the assignment.
