FAQs – Travel Occupational Therapy Jobs Near Arlington, VA

What certifications are required for travel Occupational Therapy jobs?
Facilities typically require current NBCOT certification as an Occupational Therapist Registered (OTR), along with BLS certification. You also need authorization to practice in the assignment’s state. Your recruiter can confirm exact requirements for this position.
How much experience do I need for a travel Occupational Therapy assignment?
Many travel OT assignments prefer at least one year of experience, ideally in the same setting as the job. Requirements vary, and some facilities consider therapists with less experience. Relevant skills include independently completing evaluations, developing treatment plans, and managing a daily caseload.
Can a compact privilege replace full Virginia OT licensure for this contract?
For this contract, either an approved Virginia OT Compact privilege or a full Virginia license can provide practice authority. The compact route requires OT Compact eligibility and a qualifying home-state license. The Compact issues a state-specific privilege rather than one multistate license. The endorsement route instead calls for professional-license verification and an NPDB self-query. Practice cannot begin until the selected Virginia authorization is approved. Confirm current fees, requirements, and application steps with the Virginia Board of Medicine.

Benefits

  • Day One Benefits, Medical, Dental, Vision & 401(k)
  • Relocation and Travel Reimbursement
  • Dedicated team to help with state licensing & renewals
  • Weekly Direct Deposit
  • $1,000 Referral Bonus + $250 Bonus for Your Referral

Explore Arlington, VA

Virginia has a substantial rehabilitation community around Richmond, where specialized inpatient recovery is connected with outpatient centers and clinical research. For therapy travelers, that professional setting is one part of a state with unusually varied communities. Richmond’s arts districts and James River scenery differ from Charlottesville’s university atmosphere and the mountain towns farther west. Northern Virginia brings a more metropolitan rhythm near Washington, while Hampton Roads combines maritime history with Atlantic beaches. The Shenandoah Valley offers farms, smaller cities, and access to Blue Ridge landscapes; Southwest Virginia adds traditional music and craft. Colonial Williamsburg is a major historic destination, but everyday discoveries can be just as appealing, from a local oyster menu near the bay to an autumn market in the valley.
