FAQs – ER Travel Nurse Jobs Near Clarkston, WA

What certifications are required for this ER travel job?
Most travel ER jobs require BLS and ACLS. TNCC may be required for trauma care. Pediatric requirements can include PALS, ENPC, or both, depending on whether the facility accepts ENPC in place of PALS. Confirm the required combination before booking a course or renewing credentials.
What recent experience do facilities look for in travel ER nurses?
Facilities typically look for recent emergency department experience caring for a wide range of acuity levels, from lower-acuity patients to unstable patients who may need rapid intervention. Trauma exposure, critical care skills, pediatric experience, and triage experience can all matter depending on the department. The strongest match is usually a recent ER background that reflects the patient volume, acuity, and responsibilities of the assignment.
What types of patients do travel ER nurses typically care for?
Travel ER nurses may care for patients with medical emergencies, injuries, behavioral health needs, cardiac or respiratory conditions, and patients awaiting admission to another unit. Some departments also manage ventilated patients or titratable drips while patients wait for an ICU bed. Patient mix and acuity vary by hospital, so travelers should compare the department’s typical population with their recent experience.
Can I start this Washington assignment on my multistate license?
Yes—Washington is a Nurse Licensure Compact member, so an active multistate RN license covers this assignment. Nurses applying for a Washington license by endorsement get a useful bridge: once every other requirement is complete, the Board may issue a temporary practice permit while the FBI background check is still pending. For official licensing information, see Washington Nursing License Requirements.

Explore Clarkston, WA

Across the Snake River from its Idaho twin Lewiston, Clarkston, WA sits at the mouth of Hells Canyon, twin cities whose hospital market serves a remote and beautiful corner of the inland Northwest. Travel contracts here span both sides of the river, with emergency department and med-surg floor roles at the center and one rental covering the whole market. Jet-boat tours run up Hells Canyon from the local docks, into a river gorge of staggering depth. The valley's low elevation keeps winters clearly milder than the surrounding high plateau country. Housing costs little here. The confluence country's vineyards climb the benchlands, and Pullman and Moscow's college towns lie about forty minutes north.
