FAQs – Travel Occupational Therapy Jobs Near Kirkland, WA

What certifications are required for travel Occupational Therapy jobs?
Facilities typically require current NBCOT certification as an Occupational Therapist Registered (OTR), along with BLS certification. You also need authorization to practice in the assignment’s state. Your recruiter can confirm exact requirements for this position.
How much experience do I need for a travel Occupational Therapy assignment?
Many travel OT assignments prefer at least one year of experience, ideally in the same setting as the job. Requirements vary, and some facilities consider therapists with less experience. Relevant skills include independently completing evaluations, developing treatment plans, and managing a daily caseload.
Which authorization is required for this Washington travel OT contract?
A Washington occupational therapist license must be active before this contract begins. Washington has joined the OT Compact, but it is not currently accepting privilege applications, so compact membership cannot be used as practice authority yet. Explore Kirkland, WA

Washington offers therapy travelers a rehabilitation community in Seattle with specialized inpatient care and outpatient programs for recovery after major injury. Physical, occupational, and speech therapy are connected within that academic setting, adding professional depth to the Puget Sound region’s cultural appeal. Seattle has neighborhood restaurants and live music; Tacoma contributes museums and a working waterfront. Beyond those cities, the Olympic Peninsula, Cascade mountains, and island communities offer very different landscapes. Eastern Washington changes the picture again, with Spokane’s riverfront, agricultural valleys, and a drier climate. Wine country around Walla Walla provides another reason to explore inland. A longer stay can include both the state’s celebrated scenery and quieter routines built around local markets, seasonal produce, and the community where you live.
