FAQs – ICU Travel Nurse Jobs Near Bentonville, AR

What certifications do travel ICU jobs require?
Most travel ICU jobs require Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS). Neuro and stroke units commonly add NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS), and pediatric or mixed units may ask for PALS. The CCRN credential is preferred by many facilities and required by a few.
Will I float on a travel ICU assignment?
It depends on the facility and the contract. ICU travelers may float to PCU, step-down, ER holds, or other critical care areas, while some hospitals limit floating more narrowly. Float expectations are not always visible in the posting, so confirm the policy before accepting an assignment.
What experience is required for travel ICU RN jobs?
Most travel ICU RN jobs require recent critical care experience caring for high-acuity patients and independently managing ventilators, vasoactive drips, sedation, and invasive lines. Some units may also look for experience with CRRT, IABP, Impella, ECMO, or other advanced therapies. Requirements vary by ICU type, so facilities typically want your recent experience to closely match the patient population, devices, and level of care on the assignment.
Can my compact license cover this Arkansas travel assignment?
Yes—an active multistate RN license covers this assignment because Arkansas is a Nurse Licensure Compact state. For licensure by endorsement, note the fingerprint quirk: after applying, out-of-state nurses must message the Board through the Nurse Portal to request the ink fingerprint card—it isn’t sent automatically. Our Arkansas Nursing License Guide has current fees, timelines, and step-by-step instructions.

Explore Bentonville, AR

Walmart's headquarters transformed Bentonville, AR from a courthouse-square town into one of the country's stranger boomtowns, and the healthcare market has scaled with the corporate growth. Many RNs here work emergency and surgical assignments across a corridor that runs south through Rogers and Springdale toward Fayetteville. Crystal Bridges holds the cultural side with a world-spanning art collection set into the woods, free to enter and worth repeat visits. Mountain-bike trails lace the whole town. They were built to a standard that draws serious riders from across the country. A rental search has climbed with the boom but remains reasonable against any coastal market a traveler might compare it to. The square's restaurant scene now punches far above regional expectations, another byproduct of the corporate-recruiting boom.
