Explore Sacramento, CA

Where the American and Sacramento Rivers meet, Sacramento, CA spreads across the floor of the Central Valley. I-5, I-80, and US-50 fan out toward Roseville, Folsom, and Elk Grove, where housing often comes easier than near the central grid. Hospital imaging departments and physical-therapy clinics run from midtown through the suburban ring. Travelers often base in Roseville or Elk Grove for easier rent, riding the I-80 or Highway 99 commute into the central sites. The American River Parkway runs for miles along the water, a popular spot for a ride or a walk when the day clears. Winter brings dense tule fog to the valley and summer turns hot and dry, so travelers on early starts plan drive times around both.
