FAQs – Operating Room Travel Nurse Jobs Near Santa Rosa, CA

What certifications do travel OR jobs require?
Most travel OR positions require Basic Life Support (BLS), and many hospitals also require Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS). CNOR is preferred by many facilities but required by only a few. Pediatric ORs may ask for PALS.
What recent OR experience is required for travel OR nurse jobs?
Most OR travel jobs expect confidence in general and orthopedic cases plus several additional service lines such as neuro, spine, urology, GYN, vascular, or ENT. Robotic experience is also commonly requested. Facilities may ask for a service-line skills checklist, so be specific about the cases you have circulated or scrubbed recently.
Do travel OR jobs include call?
Often, yes. Hospital OR assignments commonly include evening, overnight, or weekend call, while outpatient surgery centers are less likely to. Call frequency, required response time, and call pay vary by facility, so confirm all three before you accept.
Will my multistate nursing license cover this California travel assignment?
No—California is not a Nurse Licensure Compact state, so a multistate license from another state doesn’t authorize practice here; you’ll need an active California RN license. Apply for licensure by endorsement through the California Board of Registered Nursing and plan ahead—eligible endorsement applicants may also apply for a temporary license while the permanent application is pending. Our California Nursing License Guide has current fees, timelines, and step-by-step instructions.
Which specialties offer the most opportunity for RNs at Santa Rosa Memorial?
Beyond trauma care, Santa Rosa Memorial has established programs in cardiac surgery, neuroscience, stroke, orthopedics, maternity, and general acute care. That gives travelers several options for building on experience in cardiac, neuro, surgical, med/surg, and women’s health settings.
How broad is the patient population at Santa Rosa Memorial?
Santa Rosa Memorial serves as a regional referral hospital for communities across California’s North Coast. Because patients may arrive from both urban and rural areas, travel nurses can see a broad range of acuity and medical complexity rather than a narrowly defined community caseload.

Benefits

  • Day One Benefits, Medical, Dental, Vision & 401(k)
  • Relocation and Travel Reimbursement

Licensing in California

Single-state license required. California is not a Nurse Licensure Compact state, so you'll need a state-specific license. Our licensing team handles endorsement and renewals for you. See the California Licensing Center →
