FAQs – Travel CT Tech Jobs Near Richmond Heights, MO

What certifications and credentials are required for travel CT Tech jobs?
ARRT (CT) is a common requirement; some employers accept NMTCB (CT). ARRT (CT) requires a supporting credential in radiography, nuclear medicine technology, or radiation therapy. Additional requirements include BLS and a state imaging license or certification.
Is X-Ray experience enough to qualify for a travel CT Tech position?
Usually, facilities want recent hands-on CT experience in addition to a radiography background. Travelers should be prepared to show that they have worked independently in CT and are comfortable with the pace, patient populations, and responsibilities expected in the department. Recent CT experience is especially important for travel roles where orientation may be limited.
Do travel CT Tech jobs require IV and contrast experience?
Many hospital CT assignments include contrast-enhanced imaging and may look for experience with IV starts, power injectors, contrast administration, and contrast-reaction procedures. CT certification alone does not authorize every contrast-related responsibility, so permitted duties can depend on state rules, facility policy, required supervision, and documented competency.
Does Missouri issue a state license for CT technologists?
No. Missouri doesn't issue an individual CT or general medical-imaging license. Employers commonly rely on ARRT (CT), documented competency, and their own safety and credentialing standards when hiring CT technologists, while the state regulates radiation machines and facilities. Review both the job qualifications and facility onboarding requirements. Visit the Missouri DHSS Radiation Control Program for current state requirements.

Explore Richmond Heights, MO

Missouri’s two largest metros have distinct identities: St. Louis looks toward the Mississippi, while Kansas City is closely associated with jazz, barbecue, and fountains. St. Louis also combines academic imaging research with specialized diagnostic and interventional care within its university medical community. Between and beyond those cities, Columbia brings university life, and the Ozarks offer lakes, wooded hills, and spring-fed rivers. The state’s wine country and historic river towns provide smaller destinations with their own appeal. Baseball, neighborhood restaurants, and live performances can shape city evenings; paddling and lake trips suit a different kind of break. Missouri’s river towns also preserve its winemaking heritage, with vineyards and tasting rooms around communities such as Hermann.
