FAQs – Travel Occupational Therapy Jobs Near Portland, OR

What certifications are required for travel Occupational Therapy jobs?
Facilities typically require current NBCOT certification as an Occupational Therapist Registered (OTR), along with BLS certification. You also need authorization to practice in the assignment’s state. Your recruiter can confirm exact requirements for this position.
How much experience do I need for a travel Occupational Therapy assignment?
Many travel OT assignments prefer at least one year of experience, ideally in the same setting as the job. Requirements vary, and some facilities consider therapists with less experience. Relevant skills include independently completing evaluations, developing treatment plans, and managing a daily caseload.
What must I complete for an Oregon travel OT contract?
An active Oregon occupational therapist license is required because Oregon is not an OT Compact member. Applicants must complete the state licensing process, including fingerprint background screening and Oregon’s law-and-ethics examination, before beginning practice. Neither an out-of-state license nor an OT Compact privilege from another jurisdiction covers this contract, and the Board must receive all required application materials. Confirm current fees, requirements, and application steps with the Oregon Occupational Therapy Licensing Board.

Benefits

  • Day One Benefits, Medical, Dental, Vision & 401(k)
  • Relocation and Travel Reimbursement
  • Dedicated team to help with state licensing & renewals
  • Weekly Direct Deposit
  • $1,000 Referral Bonus + $250 Bonus for Your Referral

Explore Portland, OR

In Portland, OR, the South Waterfront offers paved walks beside the Willamette River, with overlooks close to the neighborhood's buildings. Local outpatient care includes physical and occupational therapy. The South Waterfront Greenway combines river paths with lawns and public art, including fallen trees held in concrete forms near the Curry Street overlook. A short walk can stay along the riverbank, while Tilikum Crossing opens a route to the opposite shore. Its paths carry walkers and cyclists alongside public transit, with no private cars. Wider viewing areas beside the bridge's towers leave space to stop above the water. After dark, the bridge's lighting changes with the river's temperature, height and speed, adding a reason to revisit the waterfront in the evening.
