FAQs – ER Travel Nurse Jobs Near Lansdale, PA

What certifications are required for this ER travel job?
Most travel ER jobs require BLS and ACLS. TNCC may be required for trauma care. Pediatric requirements can include PALS, ENPC, or both, depending on whether the facility accepts ENPC in place of PALS. Confirm the required combination before booking a course or renewing credentials.
What recent experience do facilities look for in travel ER nurses?
Facilities typically look for recent emergency department experience caring for a wide range of acuity levels, from lower-acuity patients to unstable patients who may need rapid intervention. Trauma exposure, critical care skills, pediatric experience, and triage experience can all matter depending on the department. The strongest match is usually a recent ER background that reflects the patient volume, acuity, and responsibilities of the assignment.
What types of patients do travel ER nurses typically care for?
Travel ER nurses may care for patients with medical emergencies, injuries, behavioral health needs, cardiac or respiratory conditions, and patients awaiting admission to another unit. Some departments also manage ventilated patients or titratable drips while patients wait for an ICU bed. Patient mix and acuity vary by hospital, so travelers should compare the department’s typical population with their recent experience.
Is Pennsylvania a compact state for this travel assignment?
Yes—and recently so: Pennsylvania fully implemented the Nurse Licensure Compact in July 2025, so an active multistate RN license now covers Pennsylvania assignments. Nurses applying for a Pennsylvania license complete FBI fingerprinting through IdentoGO using the service code provided during the application; applicants seeking a Pennsylvania multistate license must also complete an additional criminal-history check. Confirm current fees, requirements, and application steps with the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing.

Resources for this ER job in Lansdale

Explore Lansdale, PA

Lansdale, PA sits in the northern reaches of Montgomery County, where travel nurses work within the broader Philadelphia healthcare market without paying city rents. Emergency departments and medical-surgical floors at the area's community hospitals carry much of the day-to-day caseload. Contracts often reach into Norristown, Doylestown, and Allentown, several of them an easy run up Route 309 or the Northeast Extension toward the Lehigh Valley. SEPTA's regional rail connects the borough toward Center City for nurses who would rather skip the drive, and housing tends to open up faster in the surrounding townships than downtown. Winter mornings can ice the back roads. Night-shift travelers usually build in a few extra minutes on those days.
