FAQs – ER Travel Nurse Jobs Near Statesboro, GA

What certifications are required for this ER travel job?
Most travel ER jobs require BLS and ACLS. TNCC may be required for trauma care. Pediatric requirements can include PALS, ENPC, or both, depending on whether the facility accepts ENPC in place of PALS. Confirm the required combination before booking a course or renewing credentials.
What recent experience do facilities look for in travel ER nurses?
Facilities typically look for recent emergency department experience caring for a wide range of acuity levels, from lower-acuity patients to unstable patients who may need rapid intervention. Trauma exposure, critical care skills, pediatric experience, and triage experience can all matter depending on the department. The strongest match is usually a recent ER background that reflects the patient volume, acuity, and responsibilities of the assignment.
What types of patients do travel ER nurses typically care for?
Travel ER nurses may care for patients with medical emergencies, injuries, behavioral health needs, cardiac or respiratory conditions, and patients awaiting admission to another unit. Some departments also manage ventilated patients or titratable drips while patients wait for an ICU bed. Patient mix and acuity vary by hospital, so travelers should compare the department’s typical population with their recent experience.
Is a separate Georgia license required for this travel assignment?
No—Georgia honors active multistate RN licenses through the Nurse Licensure Compact. For licensure by endorsement, register with GAPS/Idemia when you submit the application, then complete fingerprinting only after the Board’s emailed instructions arrive. Our Georgia Nursing License Guide has current fees, timelines, and step-by-step instructions.
What kind of nursing environment can travelers expect at East Georgia Regional?
East Georgia Regional is a community hospital serving Statesboro and nearby communities with emergency, ICU, surgical, cardiac, and maternity services. Travelers may work with a broad general acute-care population supported by specialty and telemedicine resources.
How does telemedicine expand care at East Georgia Regional?
Inpatient teams have access to teleneurology, telestroke, and tele-infectious disease services. Travel nurses may collaborate with remote specialists while caring for patients who need higher-level assessment without immediate transfer.

Statesboro, GA leads Bulloch County an hour northwest of Savannah, a college town whose hospital serves a wide farm-country radius in southeast Georgia. Travel work centers on emergency and telemetry coverage, with the university calendar shaping traffic, rentals, and restaurant lines more than most outsiders expect. Savannah handles airport trips and coastal weekends down GA-67 and I-16, while Swainsboro and Sylvania sit closer for quieter drives. Student-oriented housing keeps rental stock plentiful, and summers open it up further. Downtown's small blocks hold the essentials within a few minutes of most assignments. The beaches at Tybee Island run about an hour and a quarter for days off, and parking stays easy everywhere, a small daily perk after bigger markets.
