Responsibilities
- Manage critically ill patients requiring continuous hemodynamic monitoring and frequent reassessment
- Titrate vasoactive, sedation, and other high-alert drips as ordered and per facility protocol
- Care for mechanically ventilated patients and manage critical care devices, including arterial and central lines
- Respond to clinical deterioration and participate in codes and rapid responses
Travel ICU Requirements:
- 2+ years of recent ICU experience.
- Must hold all required certifications and licenses as mandated by Massachusetts and national regulatory bodies.

Some units may also look for experience with CRRT, IABP, Impella, ECMO, or other advanced therapies. Requirements vary by ICU type, so facilities typically want your recent experience to closely match the patient population, devices, and level of care on the assignment.
Is my compact license valid for this Massachusetts travel assignment?
Not yet. Massachusetts enacted the Nurse Licensure Compact, but implementation isn’t complete, so multistate privileges aren’t currently honored.
