Responsibilities
- Manage critically ill patients requiring continuous hemodynamic monitoring and frequent reassessment
- Titrate vasoactive, sedation, and other high-alert drips as ordered and per facility protocol
- Care for mechanically ventilated patients and manage critical care devices, including arterial and central lines
- Respond to clinical deterioration and participate in codes and rapid responses
Travel ICU Requirements:
- 2+ years of recent ICU experience.
- Must hold all required certifications and licenses as mandated by South Carolina and national regulatory bodies.

Requirements vary by ICU type, so facilities typically want your recent experience to closely match the patient population, devices, and level of care on the assignment.
Can I begin orientation before my South Carolina license is issued?
Only with an active multistate RN license or a current South Carolina temporary or permanent license. South Carolina counts orientation—classroom sessions and policy review included—as nursing practice, so your authorization must be in hand before day one, not just before your first shift.
