FAQs – Travel CT Tech Jobs Near Boston, MA

What certifications and credentials are required for travel CT Tech jobs?
ARRT (CT) is a common requirement; some employers accept NMTCB (CT). ARRT (CT) requires a supporting credential in radiography, nuclear medicine technology, or radiation therapy. Additional requirements include BLS and a state imaging license or certification.
Is X-Ray experience enough to qualify for a travel CT Tech position?
Usually, facilities want recent hands-on CT experience in addition to a radiography background. Travelers should be prepared to show that they have worked independently in CT and are comfortable with the pace, patient populations, and responsibilities expected in the department. Recent CT experience is especially important for travel roles where orientation may be limited.
Do travel CT Tech jobs require IV and contrast experience?
Many hospital CT assignments include contrast-enhanced imaging and may look for experience with IV starts, power injectors, contrast administration, and contrast-reaction procedures. CT certification alone does not authorize every contrast-related responsibility, so permitted duties can depend on state rules, facility policy, required supervision, and documented competency.
Do I need an additional Massachusetts license to work in CT?
Massachusetts treats CT as an advanced-practice modality. You'll generally need a full Massachusetts radiologic technologist license first and a separate CT license before performing routine CT work. A general radiography license by itself isn't enough for the modality. Visit the Massachusetts Division of Radiation Control for current requirements and application steps.
