What certifications and credentials are required for travel CT Tech jobs?
ARRT (CT) is a common requirement; some employers accept NMTCB (CT). ARRT (CT) requires a supporting credential in radiography, nuclear medicine technology, or radiation therapy. Additional requirements include BLS and a state imaging license or certification.
Is X-Ray experience enough to qualify for a travel CT Tech position?
Usually, facilities want recent hands-on CT experience in addition to a radiography background. Travelers should be prepared to show that they have worked independently in CT and are comfortable with the pace, patient populations, and responsibilities expected in the department. Recent CT experience is especially important for travel roles where orientation may be limited.
Do travel CT Tech jobs require IV and contrast experience?
Many hospital CT assignments include contrast-enhanced imaging and may look for experience with IV starts, power injectors, contrast administration, and contrast-reaction procedures. CT certification alone does not authorize every contrast-related responsibility, so permitted duties can depend on state rules, facility policy, required supervision, and documented competency.
What CT qualifications must a North Carolina facility document?
North Carolina doesn't issue an individual CT license, but facilities must document that CT operators meet the state's qualification pathways. These include ARRT (CT), a qualifying radiography or nuclear medicine credential with equivalent CT training and experience, or supervised in-training status. Separate treatment applies to certain cone-beam, veterinary, attenuation-correction, and radiation-therapy simulation uses. Review the North Carolina CT personnel requirements for current state requirements.

Explore Wilson, NC

Wilson, NC sits east of Raleigh near Interstate 95, serving as a healthcare and commercial center for surrounding eastern North Carolina communities. Hospital and outpatient settings provide imaging and laboratory care for the surrounding eastern North Carolina region. Downtown's Vollis Simpson Whirligig Park brings large kinetic sculptures, open space, and community events into the center of the city, giving Wilson a local feature unlike most similar-size markets. Greenways and parks add more options for walking and recreation nearby. Wilson's compact layout keeps many errands close, while Interstate 95 makes regional travel straightforward north and south. The eventual worksite should still guide housing, especially for addresses outside the central city or in nearby rural communities.
