Travel CT Tech Job in Atlanta, GA | Days (3x12)

Requirements vary by state and facility, but many travel CT Tech positions look for:

• Current ARRT certification and registration in Computed Tomography—ARRT (CT)—or another CT credential accepted by the facility, such as NMTCB (CT)
• An active supporting or primary credential in radiography, nuclear medicine technology, or radiation therapy, as applicable
• A state imaging license or certification where required
• Basic Life Support certification
• Any contrast, venipuncture, or other competencies listed for the assignment

ARRT certification in Radiography alone does not make a technologist CT-certified. Review both the state licensing requirements and the qualifications listed for the specific position.

Yes. Radiography is one of the most common pathways into CT, and eligible radiologic technologists can pursue CT as an additional credential. Some state rules or facility training programs may allow supervised CT experience while a technologist works toward certification.

Travel assignments usually have less training time. For that reason, facilities often prefer CT certification already in place along with recent experience scanning independently. Depending on the position, they may also look for experience with emergency and trauma studies, stroke protocols, CT angiography, contrast-enhanced examinations, or the scanner platform used by the facility.

Many do. Hospital-based CT assignments frequently include contrast-enhanced examinations, so facilities may look for documented experience with venipuncture, IV contrast administration, power injectors, and contrast-reaction procedures.
