FAQs – Labor and Delivery Travel Nurse Jobs Near Westminster, CO

What certifications do travel L&D jobs require?
Most travel L&D jobs require Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and a current Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) provider card. Many facilities also require an intermediate or advanced fetal monitoring course.
What experience do facilities look for in L&D travel nurses?
Facilities generally want recent labor and delivery experience with fetal monitoring, labor progression, inductions, obstetric emergencies, and higher-risk pregnancies. Experience with magnesium sulfate, preterm labor, hypertensive disorders, and other common L&D scenarios may also be important depending on the unit’s acuity. Travelers should clearly describe the types of patients and deliveries they have managed independently.
How can an L&D nurses responsibilities differ between travel assignments?
The scope of an L&D role can vary significantly by hospital. Some units focus primarily on labor and delivery, while others expect nurses to cover antepartum, postpartum, couplet care, newborn stabilization, or surgical delivery responsibilities. Understanding the areas you may cover can help you compare the assignment with your recent experience and determine whether it is a strong clinical match.
Will my compact RN license work for this Colorado assignment?
Yes—an active multistate RN license covers this assignment because Colorado is a Nurse Licensure Compact state. For endorsement, know Colorado’s fingerprint rule: a background check from a previous application can’t be reused, because prints must be submitted specifically for the Colorado nursing application. Our Colorado Nursing License Guide has current fees, timelines, and step-by-step instructions.

Explore Westminster, CO

Halfway between Denver and Boulder, Westminster, CO gives travel nurses a base that reaches both metros' hospital networks without paying either one's core rents. Contracts circulate across the northwest corridor, often in telemetry and emergency roles. The US-36 freeway makes the commute math straightforward in both directions, though rush hour southbound into Denver backs up reliably. A rental search spreads across newer developments with more space than central Denver offers. The Butterfly Pavilion sits in town for an offbeat hour, and the old Westminster Castle marks the skyline from the historic university grounds. Rocky Mountain trailheads start within forty minutes west, which is the real reason many RNs pick this corridor for a contract.
