What certifications do travel L&D jobs require?

Facilities generally want recent labor and delivery experience with fetal monitoring, labor progression, inductions, obstetric emergencies, and higher-risk pregnancies. Experience with magnesium sulfate, preterm labor, hypertensive disorders, and other common L&D scenarios may also be important depending on the unit’s acuity. Travelers should clearly describe the types of patients and deliveries they have managed independently.
How can an L&D nurses responsibilities differ between travel assignments?

Explore Raton, NM

Raton, NM sits at the foot of Raton Pass on I-25 where New Mexico meets Colorado, a small market whose coverage reaches ranch country in both states. Travel work runs to emergency and general inpatient care. Trinidad lies twenty-five minutes north over the pass, and the nearest larger markets are a genuine drive: Pueblo about two hours north, Santa Fe about three south. The Amtrak Southwest Chief stops downtown daily, an unusual asset for a town this size. Sugarite Canyon State Park minutes east holds lakes and trails at 7,000-plus feet. Housing is inexpensive and low-key. Winter closures on the pass are rare but real, worth watching before any northbound plans.
